Over the past few years in Yosemite there is one hair and makeup artist that I work with over and over, Carol from Belissimo, and for good reason. Not only does she consistently produce gorgeous brides, but she can work under the pressure of a wedding timeline.
As the daughter of a professional hair stylist, Carol was surrounded by style. One of the more interesting things to come out o this was that she learned from a father that was left-handed. This may not seem like much, but Carol herself is right-handed. Now she can approach styling ambidextrously allowing her to work even faster and more efficiently. She started in Los Angeles working in theater makeup, constantly creating new looks under ridiculous deadlines as actors prepared for their next scene. In this environment she learned to use waterproof makeup, something that that she still uses today in her wedding work. When I sat down to talk with Carol about their services, I learned one of the most interesting things about her business that I never knew. They offer full in-room massage services. Every time that I work with Carol I am amazed by what she can do. Gently working with brides, her styles seem effortless and at the same time amazingly beautiful. The styles fit in and flow with the natural beauty of Yosemite. I have even watched her user her magic to make tattoos disappear.
