The Ahwahnee Hotel

The Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park at duskImagine standing in a private meadow surrounded by Half Dome and Yosemite Falls as you share your love with your partner. The wind whispering through the trees, the magnificat granite towering to the sky, all while you hold the one you love. As the sun slips behind the trees, you enjoy cocktails on the patio with your guests. Then the stars take to the sky, while you enjoy a delicious meal with your loved ones in a warmly lit room of elegance. This is exactly what is possible at the Ahwahnee Hotel.

Nestled in the eastern end of Yosemite Valley is the grand jewel of lodges in the National Park System, The Ahwahnee Hotel. It was built in the late 1920’s drawing from a variety of artistic influences to create an elegant timeless feel.

The wedding lawn is a truly spectacular place for your ceremony. Surrounded by lush greenery on every side and views of Half Dome & Yosemite Falls, the beauty here is almost unbelievable.

In the event of rain or snow, the Ahwahnee staff can move the ceremony under the eaves of the East Portico. Sheltered from the storm, but still open to the beauty of the outside world, it is a place of stunning beauty and strength.

For your reception, you have the options of the outdoor West Portico, the intimacy of the Mural Room, or the grand elegance of the Solarium. Because it is exposed to the elements, the West Portico is only recommended during the warm summer months with longer days where you can truly enjoy the openness. The Mural Room is perfect for smaller weddings, no larger than 40 guests. The hard wood paneling, copper fireplace, and murals combine to create a relaxing ambience. For larger receptions, the Solarium with it’s grand views of the valley is simply incomparable. Please note that due to the hardwood floors in Ahwahnee, dancing is only permitted in the Winter Room.

The level of service at the Ahwahnee is nothing short of first class. The entire staff is focused on ensuring that each and every guest has everything to enjoy their stay. In particular, the wedding staff operates like a well oiled machine, not only taking care of your needs by anticipating them before you have to worry about a thing.

Hello! My fiancé and I are thinking of having a small wedding in Yosemite and this location looks like just the spot! Can you send us specifics we would need for the ceremony and our family (approx. 35 people) for the reception.

Thank you very much! We look forward to hearing from you!
